BRIAN “BOO” CAREY — LAST ALARM 03.30.2010
On Tuesday, March 30, 2010, the Homewood Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at a singlefamily
residence. The crews made valiant efforts but could not reach 87 year old WWII veteran Wendell H. Elias.
Homewood Firefighter/Paramedic Brian Carey, a.k.a. “Boo”, willingly risked his life to save the life of a man he did not
know. Sadly, this heroic act would be Brian’s last alarm. During his unwavering effort, he was gravely injured. That
night, Brian Colin Carey, a fiercely brave and kindhearted young man, passed away peacefully.

Ride For Boo - Join us as we ride to Colorado Springs
We’re riding to the 2010 IAFF Fallen Firefighter Memorial Service in Colorado
Springs. During this ceremony Brian’s name will be added to the wall of fallen
comrades who have given the ultimate sacrifice and shall forever be remembered.
