Q: How come you don't post new information in some sections of the site as often as
others?
A: I post what I have. If the members of some committee's do not give me information as
often as others, there's little I can do. Talk to them and encourage them to be more
involved in Our Site.

Q: Why not put the Recap on the website?
A: Even tough the Social Security number have been replaced with the Global IDs, we do
not want members names or pay rates available to the public.

Q: Why not make the site password protected, so sensitive information could then be
safely available to members?
A: In order for that to work properly, the password would have to be changed periodically
to ensure security. The problem would arise in getting to changing password to the
members in a timely matter and no one else. If it became difficult to get on the site,
because of members not having correct password, many would simply stop coming.

Q: Why have a website?
A: To keep members up to date as much as possible. Word of mouth is subject to
changes every time it is passed on from person to person. No one knows if they are
hearing the truth or rumors. Printed handouts are not cost efficient to do on a daily or
weekly basis.

Q: Who runs and decides what goes on and what doesn't go on our site.
A: The UAW has guidelines and rules for locals to go by. The rest is decided by the Web
Site Committee, who is the president, the trustees and the webmaster. We invite all union
officers and members to get involved in Our site.

Q: How much is it costing us to have and manage this site?
A: The cost to have this site is less than $12 a month. To manage the site is free, the
webmaster is a UAW 588 member.
